Projects completed include the complete repair and a conservation  of the timber frame of a fire destroyed historic public house. This project was nominated for and won the coveted Maldon District Council 2017 Building Conservation Award, one judge describing the timber frame repairs as “the best he’d ever seen”.

Another project was the repair of a C15th grade II listed timber framed house in Cold Norton, Essex which won the same award, from Maldon District Council for 2019, in recognition of the exceptional carpentry work and informed research.

Larger projects include the restoration of a 1933 Brixham Trawler yacht, and working on a number of wooden yachts for private owners and sail training charities during sailing seasons. Smaller projects have included working with individual clientele for bespoke home remodelling and renovations for windows, shutters, kitchen work islands and worktops, cabinets, making and hanging doors, tables, garden pergolas and family heirloom cribs for the newest members to rest and grow.

My approach to beginning any new project is to meet in person with clients and discuss exactly what the vision is for completion. Liaising if necessary with Conservation and planning officers to fulfil any legal and recommended requirements. Once a project is underway, clients are fully involved, kept up to date with progress meetings and are able to contribute to any decisions that arise as a result of discovery or should they wish to adjust initial plans.
